The club began in 1998 with a membership of around 100. We purchased a Bombi and build a 6' x 12' drag and groomed a trail South through the community pasture for aprox. 45 miles. In 1999 the club was approached by the Minnedosa club to see if we would be interested in grooming a trail towards Minnedosa. Later in the season we discussed in going to Erickson on the new Trans Canada Trail.
By combining funds from 3 clubs and getting a loan from Bombardier we purchased a 1993 BR400 in August of 2001. Thanks to Gary Graham we now have a 12' x 20' drag that takes down moguls behind this unit.
We now groom a total of 250+ Km of trail and are in the process of possibly linking our trail with Sprucewoods.
Fundraising & Grants.
The club would like everyone to know it really appreciates the continued funding it receives from the Town of Neepawa. We have also received grants from B.P.C. Foundation, NADO, Numerous R.M's.
Some of our major fundraisers were
1) Advertising from Trail Maps
2) Sno-Ball Social ( November 13th 2004)
3) Security at Horse Derby (July 24th 2004)
4) Relic Run (looking for a old sled to raffle)
5) 50/50 Draw
Thanks to over 50 businesses we can produce a trail map for the enthusiasts to enjoy when in our area while snowmobiling. pick one up at any of our supporters.
